How to Overcome Boredom

Image
Dear friends! Welcome back. The feedbacks I got about the last episodes were so amazing. Thank you for taking your time to read, comment and share your thoughts about those topics. It goes a long way. Today, I want to discuss about how to deal with boredom. For many of us, it is something that we experience from time to time. For some, it could be about their job or certain activities that have become a routine and it’s no longer interesting. Boredom also happens among children and young adults because they are so full of energy, and any activity that is downing their spirit or make them less active could be boring for them. This could consequently ensue in children diverting that energy into something else, sometimes dangerous for their wellbeing.  It is important that we as parents understand our children and know how to engage them in the right way so that they will not use that energy for wrong purposes. As adults, when we are bored, we could feel easily tired, weak, frustra...

5 Vital Lessons I Learned In My Marriage (Part 3)

Image
Hi loves, hope you are doing well? And trust your week has been great. Today, I’ll conclude on the 5 vital lessons I learned in my marriage. Let me quickly mention that the things I discussed are applicable to both men and women. I’m not trying to be gender-biased or focus only on women. I believe marriage is for both men and women, and so they should both enjoy it and make it work.  Meanwhile, it is not by subjecting one person to responsibilities or making the other person feel entitled that will make marriage work. Rather, it’s about sharing love and growing together (which would allow each partner to go to any length to sacrifice for their spouse and make them happy).  Love doesn’t look for who is right or wrong. It is looking for who is willing —willing to give. Because love is about giving. And this takes me to my next point which is forgiveness. Forgiveness is an important quality in marriage. And no marriage can survive without it. It is important because there is no h...

5 Vital Lessons I Learned In My Marriage - (Part 2)

Image
Hello my loves, trust this week has been great for you. Thank God for life and good health. I believe this coming new week will be good for us, and we would have great things to share. I will continue with the vital lessons I've learned in my marriage. I was in a discussion with one of our sisters and she reminded me of something we had discussed sometimes ago. She said  'it worked'. I wondered what was that. Then, she went ahead and told me. She said I told her to do things with her husband, especially things that he loves to do. She said when she did it, she saw results.  Her husband’s attitude changed and he began to love her more than before. She was stunned. She also made the same counsel to other women who were having issues in their marriage. They also had results. They wondered what was so special about that – something could be as simple and easy as a piece of cake, and still giving a lot of results. I found that secret in my marriage long time ago. I realized tha...

‘Do Not Fear’

Image
This past week has been amazing. Calls and messages flooded my phone. I had to keep my phone charged so that I could receive all the messages and calls. Thank you so much once again for the love and care. Now, I know indeed I’m blessed with God’s people. And how has your week been? Hope it has been great and splendid. Couple of things happened this week that I thought I should share. But then I remember we have a continuation of the 5 lessons I learned in my marriage that I started couple of weeks ago. I will definitely finish that discussion. But today, I quickly want to share something I learned in this past week and also encourage you my dear. I remember the word of God which says ‘ do not fear ’. It was mentioned in the Bible like 365 times. Some people have said that it is for each day of the year, since we have 365 days in a year. God was particular about our health and well-being everyday. I often wondered why God would tell us to not fear when there are so many things to fear a...

Ha! I Was Wooowwwed, And I Want to Say A Big Thaaannnkkkk Yoooouuuuu!

Image
Seriously, I was blown away! The event went well. My son and his wife had a good time of their lives during the wedding ceremony we had last weekend. People were saying ‘ Ha! O ye yin o ’ —meaning it was indeed a great and marvelous occasion. I’m grateful to God and his people. People surrounded me like I’ve never seen. They helped me. Everyone was doing something. Nobody was left. I was wowed.  I saw how people gave their time, energy, resources, money, everything toward the success of the ceremony. To say I’m grateful is an understatement. I can’t fully express how happy and elated I was throughout the program. I’m so so grateful. And this event has taught me something special— that people indeed are God’s blessings. Just as the way I mentioned in my book Life in God’s hands  —that no matter what, people are God’s blessings in our lives.  I saw it again. I saw the love, the gesture, the care, the supports, the sacrifices and everything. I’m indeed grateful. I can’t men...

5 Vital Lessons I Learned In My Marriage - (Part 1)

Image
Greetings friends. Happy Weekend to you and Happy Easter. Hope you’ve been enjoying the season and celebrating with your loved ones. I pray the season will bring more joy and happiness into your family and whatever good thing you desire this season, the Lord will grant you. I’ve got few things to share with you today. It’s about marriage. Recently, I’ve been thinking I should share more of my life experiences and let people benefit from the lessons and understandings I’ve had over the years.  I know marriage is not a general topic, but it affects many areas of life. I mean, there is no area of life that doesn’t have a feel of marriage. Even the first family on earth came because of marriage, the union between Adam and Eve. So, marriage is as ancient as when God created man. In my own marriage, I’ve had couple of experiences that I would love to share. I have five of them. I would share two of them with you today, and we’ll continue the rest later.  First, is Emotional Control....

What I Didn’t Know In My 20s

Image
When I was in my 20s, I had some things I didn’t know. I had parents who loved children and valued education. And my mom in particular was a disciplinarian who instilled godly values in us. That wouldn’t allow us children to do anything we want.  We mostly stayed indoors when we come back from school and we’re not allowed to mingle with other children in the neighborhood. The only friends I had were from my school.  During that time, I visited my friends’ homes and saw what they had. Some of them, their parents had cars. They lived in good houses. And enjoyed good things. As a young lady who was just beginning to understand life, I felt desirous. I wished I were them.  I began to feel ashamed of myself and what I had. I didn’t want my friends to come visit me at home. I preferred we meeting somewhere else, not our house. I became too conscious and sensitive of my environment.  Sometimes I would question why God didn’t make my own parents so rich that we wouldn’t have...

4 Things I Love to Share

Image
Just few months ago when I was having my lunch at my workplace, some thoughts came into my mind and I decided to pen them down. For the sake of clarity and understanding, I would love to highlight the points. I found them crucial and fascinating, and I believe they would be helpful to many people especially parents. 1.First, Parental care: As parents, especially mothers, we have a lot of work to do. God has given us the assignment of taking care of our children. He has given them to us as a blessing. We must value them and take care of them. The Bible says Behold, children are a heritage of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is his reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be ashamed when they speak with their enemies in the gate. Psalms 127:3-5. This is a promise and an assurance. Parents are blessed to have children. Speaking about Parental care, we need to give our children educat...

7 Ways to Eat Healthy On A Low Budget

Image
Part of the essential things that we need in life is food. It contributes to our health and longevity. And it’s something that we cannot do without. But sometimes the strain of spending too much on food could have a toll on us. The good news is that there are some easy ways to eat healthy, even on a low budget. I know some people think healthy eating is expensive. But it is not, really, if we know how to. Here are 7 ways to eat healthy on a low or moderate budget.  1. Cook From Home: It is good to cook from home if you are on a budget. When you cook by yourself, you determine the quantity and the quality of your food. You also cut your coat according to your size and make sure all what is inside your food is all what you want.  More so, you can eat the remnant later and make sure nothing goes to waste.  2. Shop At Supermarket and Farmers Shop: If you want to buy food stuffs, go to where foods are sold cheaper and better. To buy things in bulk, go to supermarkets, not lo...
