5 Reasons We Go Through Challenges

Image
Hello friends! Welcome back. Trust your week has been great. Mine too was epic. I had fun last Monday celebrating my birthday. And It gladdens my heart to see several calls, messages, and surprises people did for me on that day. I really want to appreciate you and everyone who has taken their time to do all of these things. May God continue to bless you and increase you on all side. I’m so grateful! As I was just reflecting and remembering the things I've gone through in the past, one thing stood out for me. And that is for me to know that everything I had gone through in life was for a purpose. It could sound simple, but that wasn’t an easy conclusion I made.  Looking back, I could make sense of a lot of things I had gone through in life. And here, I want to share some of the reasons why I feel I have gone through those situations. First, is because my faith can be established in the Lord. If there are no trials, there won’t be opportunity to get my faith established in the Lord...

Turning 60 – How It Feels Like!

Image
Welcome back friends. Thanks for stopping by. I’m so excited to share this moment with you as I celebrate my 60th birthday. I’m so grateful to God for making me see 60 good years on the land of the living. This is a lot and it’s a big deal for me. I have seen the Lord’s goodness, His mercy and compassion. I have seen the hand of the Lord in every area of my life. When things were difficult; when life was turbulent, the Lord rose for me, He stood by me and made Himself a shield for me. I can’t start counting all the goodness of the Lord. They are so innumerable and unquantifiable.   I thank God for my dear husband (of blessed memory) who served the Lord all through his life and left a great legacy behind. I thank God for my children (both biological and adopted), my siblings, my extended families, my friends, my colleagues and everyone who has been of great blessing in my life.  I can’t count all the people I’ve met in my life – all the people who have been so great and lo...

How to Overcome Self-Condemnation

Image
Blessed weekend friends. Welcome back. How has the week been for you? Hope you are doing well. I pray the Lord continue to make His grace abound in your life. Today, I want to share something about overcoming self-condemnation. Self-condemnation is a feeling that we often feel from time to time. Whether from what we’ve done in the past to what we are doing now, or from who we were in the past to who we are now, the feeling is second to none.  It usually starts from a very subtle feeling of blaming yourself for what is happening in your life, to the feeling of guilt and then self-criticism and self-sabotage. A situation could happen to you and you could just conclude in your mind that it happened because of you. You caused it. While that might be true or not, what condemnation does is to down your spirit and make you feel helpless and hopeless. But here is the good news, there is no condemnation for you if you are in the Lord. The things you’ve done in the past are no longer an issu...

What Christ Did For Us (MUST READ!)

Image
Happy Easter Friends. Welcome back! It’s a thing of joy to celebrate this year’s Easter with the people of God. This is another time of the year when we remember the great works and the sacrifice of Christ for humanity. It’s now over two thousand years ago, that man was accused of treason. They said He was propagating a false kingdom proclaiming Himself as a king. And He was instigating people against the government.  They said His miracles were fake, but they couldn’t deny His power. They said His teachings were heresy, but they couldn’t deny the transformation.  They could see the hand of God upon Him. They could see people following Him without coercion. They knew something was going on but they couldn’t understand.  He became a threat to them, and they looked for accusations against him. They convicted Him and crucified Him on the cross. Finally, He died. And on the third day, He resurrected. He’s alive today. And He’s in us. Christ did a perfect work for us. He paid ...

5 Ways to Keep Our Body In Shape

Image
Hello friends! Welcome back. And happy new month. I pray this month brings all that is good and fulfilling for us. We will receive new strength this month and make progress in every way. Today, I want to share 5 ways to keep our body in shape. Keeping our body in shape is very important these days because of so many conditions that could ensue from keeping excess calories in our body. And more so, when we keep our body in shape, we’ll be able to wade off diseases and infections, and our productivity and health will increase. There are many ways to do that, but let’s discuss 5 of them. 1. Exercise  We know exercise is good for keeping our body in shape and making us healthy, but most times we end up not doing it. Perhaps, what we should pay attention to is the simple way of doing it and how we can incorporate it into our already existing lifestyle.  Exercise can be as simple as doing push-ups and sit-ups in your room. Dancing to your favorite music. Walking, skiing, or doing yo...

6 Foods You Can Cook In 10 Minutes

Image
Warm greetings friends! How are you doing? Trust you are in good health and shape. This past week was so engaging. I had couple of programs and events to attend. And they were so great and interesting. Perhaps, I'll share some of the things I learned sometimes soon.  Today, I quickly want to share 5 foods that I believe you can cook under 10 mins. This comes at a time when there is a lot to do, and we may not have that luxury of time to cook. Nonetheless, we can still enjoy healthy food and save some money from buying food outside all the time. Here are those 6 foods.  1. Oatmeal with Fruits Let’s start with oatmeal. It’s super easy and straightforward. Just boil it for few minutes and it’s ready. What’s more? You can add milk and fruits such as banana, berries or dates. And if you like nuts too, you can also add as well. It’s super healthy and yummy. 2. Vegetable Salad with Chicken Breast This is one of the foods that don’t give you much stress and it’s super heal...

How to Train Teenagers As A Parent

Image
Warm greetings to you friends. How has your week been? Hope everything is going well.  Today, I want to share something about how to train teenagers. For me, I still remember vividly how the experience was and the moments involved in training my kids when they were teenagers. Teenage stage is an interesting and as well challenging period in the lives of children and their parents. It is a period when the growing kids want to feel they are adults and they can do many things on their own without the help of their parents. It is also a time when they are trying to figure out who they are and who they are becoming. This period espouses rapid changes in their physical and mental growth – which means a lot of things are changing in their body and mind. And because of this, they eat a lot of food. They eat everything and anything. At this stage, they are so energetic and vibrant. Always wanting to get involved in activities and things that can make them active and alive. It is also a stag...

Be Kind!

Image
Top of the weekend to you friends. Hope your week has been great. Many things happened this week. One of them is related to the topic I want to share today. It is about being kind .  Just at the beginning of the week, I was at my workplace. Then someone called me. He said he called about the meeting that I was supposed to participate in. Using the backdrop of the previous discussion I had with someone I knew, I thought it was from that person. So, I wouldn’t hesitate to believe what this guy was saying. Then he told me to call for him a code that he sent to my phone. Not knowing what he was planning to do. On calling that code for him, he just hacked my WhatsApp account. I didn’t know anything. As I was on the call, I was busy with work. So, I told him I would call him back. But he kept pestering me with calls.  Few hours later, then I started receiving calls from people, family and friends. They told me it seems someone has hacked into my WhatsApp account because they receive...

Who Are You?

Image
Hi friends! Welcome back. And happy new month. It’s already 3rd month of the year. And thank God for His providence.  Today, I want to share something about this question – who are you? I’m sure you would have heard this question couple of times before and you might wonder why I’m asking the same question. To be honest, answering this question is not easy, even though most times it looks simple and straightforward. The reason is because it might be difficult spelling out who you think you really are. When you are asked who are you, many answers could come into your mind, including your name, title or position. You could also think of what you do or what you are known for. While all that might not be mistaken, it could be wrong to think that is all you are. Because, who you are is not just about your ability , it is also about your identity. It is about who you have understood yourself to be that no one can confuse you about. And it is more of your character, personality and per...

How to Deal with the Fear of Being Left Alone

Image
Happy weekend friends. And welcome back. It’s election season in Nigeria, and I hope this election will bring positive change to our country. And I pray there won’t be violence or shedding of innocent blood. God bless Nigeria! Today, I want to share something about how to deal with the fear of being left alone . This is a feeling that happens to practically everyone of us. And I’ve been there. I can tell you it’s not a fun experience. It’s a moment when you feel nobody around - not even the people closest to you, and you feel like you have no one. Not that you don’t really have people to talk to. But the fact that you have no one who is really so close to your heart that you can talk with and share your feelings makes you feel left alone.  Maybe you have some expectations from some people. Or maybe you think someone should do certain things for you because of what you are going through at the moment, but they are not available. They are not there for you. And you wonder if they are...
