7 Ways to Prevent Breast Cancer
Glad to come your way again, friends. Hope you're doing great and everyone in the family. It is well with us in Jesus' Name!
Today, I want to share a few things about how to prevent breast cancer.
According to recent statistics, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide, with an estimated 2.3 million new cases diagnosed in 2020, and it is the fifth leading cause of cancer-related deaths globally, accounting for approximately 685,000 deaths in 2020.
So, it is a condition that we must pay attention to and create adequate awareness to let us wade off this plague, especially among us women.
Preventing breast cancer involves taking proactive steps towards our health and adopting a lifestyle that guarantees a good life. Here are 7 ways to prevent breast cancer.

1. Self-Breast Test and Regular Screenings
First things first. It's vital we do regular breast tests (I will discuss that later on my blog), and follow recommended guidelines for breast cancer screening, including regular mammograms. These are very important for preventing breast cancer.
2. Maintaining a Healthy Weight
2. Maintaining a Healthy Weight
Shedding off those extra fats can decrease the risk of breast cancer, especially after menopause. So, let's aim for a healthy weight through a balanced diet. I talk about this a lot on my blog.
3. Exercising Regularly

Engaging in regular physical activity is another recipe for breast cancer prevention. We can aim for at least 20 minutes of moderate exercise every day or going to the gym 2 to 3 times a week.
4. Breastfeeding if Possible

I know this might sound funny, but it's actually true: breastfeeding can lower the risk of breast cancer, especially if done for a year or more. So, it's good for young women to breastfeed their children when nursing them. It's also beneficial for the baby's health.
5. Limiting Hormonal Therapy

If possible, avoid long-term use of combined hormone replacement therapy (HRT) after menopause. Extended use of estrogen and progesterone can increase the risk of breast cancer.
6. Being Aware of Family History
6. Being Aware of Family History
It's crucial we know our family history and find out if there's any case of breast cancer before. In any case, we can discuss that with our doctor and know what steps to take. Some women may benefit from genetic testing or more frequent screening if they have a family history of the disease.
7. Protection Against Environmental Hazards

Finally, it's essential we minimize exposure to environmental toxins and radiation when possible. This includes avoiding unnecessary radiation exposure and being cautious with hormone-disrupting chemicals found in some plastics and pesticides that could sometimes be found in food and our environment.
So, those are the ways in which you can prevent breast cancer. I hope you found value in them, friends.
