5 Ways to Overcome Burnout

Image
Welcome back friends. Hope you are doing great this weekend. Today, I want to discuss 5 ways to overcome burnout. These past few weeks have not been easy. It has been from one thing to another. Catching up with life, work, family and friends.  Sometimes, when we overwork ourselves, we could experience burnout. In which case, we feel exhausted, tired, weak, and even lack of appetite for anything.  We could also have feelings of worries and anxieties. There might be issues worrying our mind and we’ve been trying to solve them. There might also be a strong feeling of fear and concerns for the future. But when we put too much demands on ourselves, we overburden ourselves and eventually breakdown. If care is not taken, this could have a toll on our health. In order to prevent this, we need to find ways to overcome it. Here are 5 ways. 1. Take A Break When you are in a moment of burnout, the first thing to do is to take a break. Take a break from all activities that are overwhe...

5 Ways I Handle Problems (Part 2)

Image
Dear friends, welcome back. Hope your week has been great. And thanks for those comments. I appreciate them and your time. Today, I will continue with the topic I started last week. I will share 5 ways I handle problems. First, I face the problem head-on:  Yes! There’s no need to pretend there’s no problem when there is. One of the ways I handle problem is to face it head-on, which means I work directly on the problem. In this case, there’s usually no two ways about it. I either solve the problem or it remains.  When I have financial problem, I face it head-on. When I also have problem with dealing with certain situations with people, I face it head-on. I don’t hesitate trying to look for alternative. I know the longer I prolong solving the problem, the longer it stays. Second, I discuss it with someone close to me in a bid to solve it:  Sometimes, when I’m going through tough and emotional roller-coaster, I could engage someone close to me to discuss about it. It works! ...

How I Handle Problems (Part 1)

Welcome back, friends. Today I want to share something very important. It is about problems.  We know in life, problems never finish. They will keep coming our way. Even when we solve one, another one comes. But problems are not all negative, though. In fact, there are many good sides to problems than the bad ones. The challenge is just that the way many of us have been conditioned to view problem is that of a negative one.  I remember when we first came to America, I had one of my biggest surprises. I had high hopes that coming to America would be a better life. (And yes, it was eventually but not on a platter of gold.)  I thought we wouldn’t have to work much or stress ourselves for anything - that things will just start working right away. I didn’t know we have to work for it. And at the beginning, things were not that easy.  When we came, my husband was doing two jobs. One for the day, another one for the night. I was staying at home with the kids.  But bac...

The Hope That Keeps Us Alive

Image
Dear friends! Welcome back. It’s one week already since my last post. Thank God for life and good health. I know at this time, so many things are happening in and around us. From political instabilities to economic challenges and increase in food prices; everything is now expensive and things are becoming more challenging for people. Many are finding it difficult to eat and take care of their basic expenses. And there are also no jobs to compensate for the increased cost of living. So, things are really challenging for people now. But what can we do in a time as this? I know there could be so many answers to this. But what came to my mind as I ruminate through these situations is to not lose hope. Hope is the energy that keeps our spirits alive. Without hope, we lose energy and passion for life. We are no longer interested in anything. And we could even think of taking away our life. But when we keep hope alive, we keep our faith and trust in God alive and we believe in the betterment ...

The Experience I've Never Had

Dear friends! Welcome back. Hope your week has been great and having a wonderful time. Summer is here. And thank God for the good weather. This is a time when we go out more and do some nice things. Some of us go on vacation. Some go on shopping. Some just stay at home and have some rest. Whichever way, the important thing is to enjoy the moment and thank God for the gift of life. This year, I was cheered by my children and family friend to travel to Dubai. I’m not the type that likes traveling, especially when the reasons are not strong enough. But this year, everyone was saying I must go on vacation. So, I decided to go to Dubai with some group of friends. There were lots of preparation for the journey. I had to do all the women things and get my mind prepared. Eventually, we moved, and after 13 hours in the air, we landed in Dubai. Starting from the airport, my mind began to change about my perception of the city. I was stunned. Literally speechless! It was as though I was in heaven...
