5 Things I Do With My Time

Warm greetings, friends! Hope you are doing well, and trust your week has been great.

I have something to share today. It is about how I use my time.

We all know time is of essence. And if we want to make a difference in this world, we must value our time. Apart from the fact that time is life, it is a limited resource that we cannot always have.

The moment we leave this world, our time here is finished. So, taking note of what we do with our time is of utmost importance.

Let me share with you five things I do with my time.

1. First, I work with my time. Yes! I prioritize work. I always find something meaningful to do. Even if it is not job. I’m not someone who likes to sit down and watch things happen. I like to always be doing something.

So, even times when I have break from work, I always engage myself in doing something meaningful. I work at home.

Depending on how other people see work, for me, work is something valuable —something that adds value to you and other people.

So, when I go to work (job) for example, even though I get paid for it, I always focus on doing something that adds value to people. I see it as a way to serve and bless lives.

And very importantly, part of my work is to fellowship with God and meditate upon His word.

2. Second, I read. Since when I was young, I love reading. Perhaps, because of how I grew up. I had parents (especially my mother) who took education seriously and every time wanted us to read.

When we come back from school, we always have to stay at home and read. Our mother would not allow us to play outside with other kids. But to focus on our books. So, I developed the habit of reading since I was very young.

When I married, I also inculcated that habit into my children because I saw the benefits. Reading is good, and it’s very important.

Rich people spend most of their time reading and acquiring new knowledge. But poor people waste their time complaining and condemning. Reading benefits a lot and expands our mind.

When I read, I learn a lot. I engage in things that allow me to acquire new knowledge and learn new things.

3. I rest/relax. One of the important things I do with my time is to rest or relax. I find this time useful because that is when I unwind and refresh myself.

When I have worked and over-stressed myself, I have time to rest. I make sure I sleep well and eat well. And sometimes, I could just lay down on the bed and be relaxing.

I also stretch out, take a walk, and have some massage.

These days, I have also added going to gym to my time of relaxing because then, I feel more energized and strengthened after I have come back from gym. So, it works and helps in relaxing.

4. I do my projects. I have couple of things I’m working on. So, as part of my priority, I have time to do them. I have some courses related to my career I'm working on. I’m doing some currently and I also have few other activities on my schedule and family projects.

The children are also there —talking about their education, family and career. There are other projects for the future I’m also planning to work out.

So, with all of these, I have my time filled up.

5. The last but not the least is — Talking with people. Yes, I actually devote time to talk with people. Because, I’ve realized that if I don’t organize my time, I will hardly have time to talk to people.

When I have missed calls when I’m at work, I tried to return the calls and messages. On weekends, I create time to talk to people.

I know I can give one thousand and one excuse not to be available or have time to talk. But it is important to have time to talk to people. It is good to invest in relationships and build ourselves up.

I have time for my children. I have time for family and friends. And with my children, we discuss a lot of different things and everyone feels comfortable expressing themselves.

I also have time to talk to other people. I’m not hard on sharing my time with people. I love to see people happy and well. So, I try as much as possible to know how everyone is doing and fairing.

So, those are the 5 major things I do with my time. In between, I do few others things like making up (lol), doing my hair, shopping, cooking, attending events, doing house chores, and visiting friends.

I believe life is good when we spice it up with activities and events.

Hope you find them meaningful. Perhaps, you can also jot down things that you do with your time. That can probably help you to track your time and know how essentially and effectively you are using your time.

I see you doing well and excelling in every area of your life.

Have a great week ahead. God bless you!
