The Fear of Poverty

Hello friends! Welcome back. It’s one week already since our last discussion. Thank God for another wonderful weekend and the end of the month. I hope this month has been fulfilling for you. May your good plans come to fruition and have success in your endeavors.

Today, I wanted to wrap up on my last discussion, but I realized there are other critical types of fear we need to discuss before I conclude on everything. For many of us, I know it has not been easy going through life, and facing different circumstances and challenges.

Notable among these challenges is fear. Fear is known to be the number one emotion that troubles our heart and makes us act, even sometimes in a way that could harm us.

The fear I want to discuss today is the fear of poverty.

If you’ve ever been poor, you will know that it’s not good to be one. Living life would be difficult. One would not be able to afford basic necessities of life. There would be lack of food, clothes, shelter, healthcare, education, and other vital needs of life.

Nobody wants to be poor. Even those who are, are trying so hard to come out of it. It’s not easy to come out of poverty. That’s why those who have come out abhor going back to it. Quite understandable!

But let's see what the fear of poverty has done.

The fear of poverty has made some people to lose their moral values and standards. They have become corrupt and perpetual liars because of fear of poverty. Someone could easily cheat another person because they want to make money by fire by force, just to make sure they come out of poverty.

But what has this fear done? It has put them into more and more poverty. Even for the young minds, many have become wayward and untrained because of this fear. There have also been increased crime rates and demoralization in the society.

This fear has become one of the major threats to human existence and prosperity. Because of this fear, many are not able to live up to their purpose and fulfill their dreams because they are pursuing something else.

Despite the abundance and prosperity that we have in our world, the fear of poverty is so real to many than the abundance that they can see.

But how do we come out of this fear?

By engaging the law of abundance. By nature, God has made everything available for us. But we need to work to be able to unleash them. For example, there is abundance of food and water in our world, but a lot of us are still hungry and lack good water. Why? Because we have not been able to refine them enough.

We can't drink water directly from the sea. We need to purify it before we can use it. Same as food. We can't eat soil. But we can plant on it, and harvest good crops.

There is abundance of resources in our world. There is abundance of money, cars, houses, lands, gold,  riches, and everything we need. But we need to inculcate the abundance mindset before we can truly access and unlock these wealth that we have in our world.

I encourage you dear friends to engage yourself in productive work. Create and add value to people and you will create wealth for yourself, and the fear of poverty will have no place in your life and in your family.

I'll discuss more in the upcoming articles.

Have a beautiful week ahead!
