FAITH IS NOT ENOUGH
Happy new week my dear friend, I’m so glad to write you this new week, especially with the conversation around faith and productivity. Faith is powerful, but faith alone is not enough. Many years ago in Nigeria, I watched people leave for prayer mountains on Monday mornings and other working days, believing that a miracle would replace effort. Many of those same people are still moving from one mountain to another, from one prophet to another, with little or no change in their lives. Sadly, some became tired of waiting, lost their faith, and turned to dark powers in search of quick wealth. Many paid a terrible price for those choices.
There is a wide difference between spirituality and productivity. They are not enemies, they are partners. Prayer can give you direction, strength, wisdom, and hope, but it cannot replace the work that only your hands can do. God never promised to bless an empty hand. He said in Deuteronomy 28 verse 12, The Lord will bless all the work of your hands. The blessing follows the work, not the other way around.
Faith should move you to action, not keep you away from it. Pray for opportunities, then prepare yourself to recognize them. Pray for success, then build the skills that success requires. Pray for open doors, then be willing to walk through them. Heaven responds to faith, but the world often responds to value, preparation, and consistent effort.
Never stop believing in God, but never use faith as a replacement for responsibility. A praying person who works with purpose will always stand on stronger ground than someone who only waits for miracles. Faith gives life to your vision, effort gives life to your results. When both work together, they create the future you have been praying for.
