You May Have Good Old Days, But There Are Better New Days
Oftentimes we experience Saudade. Saudade is the deep emotional feeling of nostalgia towards the absence of a loved one or something in the past. It is the love, feelings, emotions, memories or thoughts that remains after someone we love or situation has passed. Many times we attach to the past, that we don’t want to live the present and enjoy the blessings of the future. There are definitely going to be certain moments we loved and cherished either alone or with someone and we wouldn’t mind to have those moments again, but the truth is -there are better days ahead, only if we can leave the past so that we can enjoy the future.
Beyond the good, there’s always the better. But if we cling to the good, we will not see the better. We might think we’ve reached the height of enjoyment in life until we have a new experience and realize there are always better days ahead. Though things might be hard and situations difficult to cope with, but I promise you that your attitude will surely bring you to a new altitude that will separate you from the multitude. We hardly believe there’s something better when we lose someone/something precious to us. But not until we believe and begin to experience it for ourselves. This is not to make us not feel remorseful or grieve over our loved ones, but it is to assure us that our past can never be better than our future.
There are always new things ahead of the old things that we might not have experienced. The old life can never be better than the new life if we will have a new mind. We’ve got to imbibe a new mind. A new mind helps us to generate new thoughts. New thoughts set the atmosphere for new life. Remember "as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." New mind comes from exposing ourselves to new information, new knowledge and new ideas that are capable of transforming our minds and give us fresh wisdom.
Situations and things around us don’t have names, we give them names. It’s the name that we give them that they answer to. It’s doesn’t matter whether they presented themselves good or bad to us. They are all the same. A situation somebody calls an opportunity is the same situation that another person calls a problem. The difference is in the naming, not the situation. What you call any situation is what it answers to you. If you call problem, you will see problem. If you call opportunity, you will see opportunity.
Next time you are faced with any situation, decide the name you want to give that situation and it will answer to you as you have named it. I see your life and situation changing for better, and glorious days are ahead of you.
