What Would LIFE Mean To You?

What would life mean to you? We’ve got several definitions and understandings about life, coupled with our own personal experiences and beliefs. But do you have a concrete definition of life? Sometimes we refer to life as a series of events, experiences, situations or circumstances that happen to us or people around us. And therein we found so many interesting and uninteresting things that both make us happy and unhappy. Would that be a definition of life? or maybe several stories that we’ve heard from people of how they lived their lives because of their decisions, convictions, and beliefs. 

This might be a little controversial but it’s never. It’s an understanding. Though there are many things in life, they wouldn’t be enough to give a good definition of life. If someone is happy at the moment, he will say life is good. If another person is unhappy at the same moment, he will say life is unfair or cruel. But those are just circumstances. They are just situations that have got nothing to do with what life means.

Let’s take an illustration. If you are a student at a university and you are studying Medicine, you have many subjects you’ll offer and a series of practicals and experiments that you would go through. Perhaps if we are to count the number of days, that would be a lot. But with all the activities and events that take place throughout your course of study, you will never call any of them medicine, though they are all in medicine, no single one of them is qualified to be called medicine. This is because they are all inside medicine, all the subjects, practicals, experiments, classes, activities, sports, events and so on. 

So, next time when you are talking about life, you understand it’s not just things that happen, neither is it people who experience those things but the entire structure in which all things consist and exist. And that is a special gift that we've received from God.

They say life starts at 40, so I hope we all agree that I am now 22, with 62years experience. I am grateful to God that I have the opportunity to witness yet another year in the fullness of his grace, compassion of his mercy, and fulfillment of his promises. Hello, my dear reader, It gladdens my heart to know that we both made it through 2024, and here we are in a new year, despite all the challenges of last year. In 2024, I was able to share a lot with you, and I hope to share even more in 2025. However, it’s important that we reflect on 2024 and prepare ourselves for the experiences of this New Year.
