OBEDIENCE OVER COMFORT
Happy new week my dear friend, it's amazing how far we have come this month, I find it important that we talk about something crucial today. Obedience is not always easy, in fact most times it comes with a cost. There are moments when doing the right thing means walking away from what feels good, what feels familiar, and even what feels safe. Following God is not just about words or intentions, it is about choices. And those choices will sometimes demand that you let go of comfort, habits, and even certain relationships that stand in the way of your purpose.
I have come this far not by chance, but through obedience and discipline. There were days I had to deny myself, stay consistent, and choose what was right over what was easy. It did not always feel good in the moment, but it built something stronger in me. It shaped my direction, and it kept me grounded when distractions tried to pull me off course.
Looking back, I regret the few times I insisted on doing things my own way. Those moments were driven by comfort, not purpose. I wanted things to be easier, faster, and more convenient, but in the end, they only delayed growth. Comfort can be deceptive, it makes you feel safe while quietly holding you back from becoming who you are meant to be.
The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6 to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding. That means obedience even when it does not make sense, even when it is uncomfortable. Because purpose is not found in ease, it is found in alignment.
At the end of it all, obedience will always demand something from you, but it will also give you something greater in return. Growth, clarity, and direction. If there is anything I have learned, it is this, choosing obedience over comfort is never a loss, it is an investment into the life you are meant to live.
