POVERTY IS EXPENSIVE

Hello My dear reader, happy new week. Today, I'll start with the story of a young man who experienced penury. He told stories about how he lost his Dad because they couldn't afford #5,000, and how his mum died due to the complications, as the father was the bread winner, and they became homeless and more miserable immediately after his demise, even though the family of 6 was managing in A ROOM before he died. The children got displaced, and everyone went separate ways, darely in the quest for survival, every man to his own, just like that the family was wiped out. Despite their family being the price they paid for poverty, they still weren't rich, that is how expensive poverty is, it has no sympathy for your past, no emotions for your situation. It then crossed my mind that while ignorance and illeteracy are popularly known to be expensive, poverty is underrated.

If there's anything everyman works and pray against, then it is poverty, we work so hard to avoid it, all the sweats, the struggles and pains, the insults we tolerate, all the money we earn, we use them to pay poverty off. We buy cars for comfort, so we don't have to trek, buy houses, for comfort, just like many other things that we do. We work so that we have money to pay bills, sort emergencies, and attend to every little way that poverty strikes. Every bill that you pay, you are paying poverty off.

Poverty doesn't just steal comfort. It steals dignity, relationships, and sometimes even the will to live. It turns dreams into burdens and survival into a full-time job. The real danger isn’t just the lack of money, but how poverty erodes the foundation of humanity. It takes away access to healthcare, education, decent shelter, and peace of mind. Poverty doesn’t wait for you to catch your breath. It demands payment in stress, lost time, and wasted potential. Unfortunately, if nothing is done, this debt becomes generational.

To avoid poverty, one must do more than pray and wish. It takes being intentional. Working not just hard, but smart. Acquiring relevant skills and staying informed. We must seek or create opportunities. Be bold enough to leave our comfort zones and connect with people who inspire growth. Education, both formal and informal, is key. So is financial discipline. Network with purpose. Invest in your personal development and be relentless about improving your reality. Poverty doesn't respect effort alone. It respects results, and those come from a combination of strategy, resilience, and divine grace.

Thank you for reading today's message, do not forget to comment and share with your family and friends. May poverty not be our portion, may God bless the works of our hands, and may we be fruitful. Have a productive week.
