LEAVE THE PAST, LIVE YOUR BEST
Some time ago, I found myself reflecting on friends and family members who have passed on. Some were younger than me, some older. Many of them were better, more prayerful, and more careful than I am. As I thought about their lives, I couldn’t help but recognize the opportunity God has given me to still be here. My heart swelled with gratitude, and I began to thank Him.
At that moment, I came to a profound realization. If I am still here, it means my purpose is not yet fulfilled. In the midst of these thoughts, I broke into prayer, asking God for the grace to live a long, meaningful, and fulfilled life. I prayed for the strength to serve Him wholeheartedly, never growing weary, even when the tasks before me seem overwhelming, when the road is tough, or when my dreams feel too big to achieve. I asked for the courage to complete everything that has been entrusted to me.
Then, my heart spoke to me. No one can truly live their dream without leaving the past behind. Dreams are glimpses of the future, hidden in the force of imagination, and no one can access tomorrow while holding on to yesterday. Every moment is meant to be lived, not trapped in the past. At that moment, I made up my mind. I would stop complaining about what was and instead focus on what could be. I resolved to search for purpose and live my best life, trusting that this is God’s plan for me.
I also remembered the parable of the talents. Three men were entrusted with different measures of gifts. The one who failed did so not because he lacked ability, but because he allowed fear and doubt to paralyze him. If he had focused less on his limitations and more on his potential, he could have done better. This is a lesson for us. We cannot dwell too much on what life has given us. Rather, we must maximize it. Gratitude and acceptance of results, whether good or bad, make it easier to move forward. It is difficult to progress when we are constantly resisting or resenting outcomes. The treasure God has placed within us is greater than any condemnation life may throw our way.
There’s a song by Asa titled 'Moving On' She reminds us that while we cannot change the past, we have the power to shape the future if only we are willing to move forward.
So today, I challenge you. Move on, leave the past behind, and live your best life. May God grant you the strength to embrace the future with confidence and purpose.

The Bible says forgetting the past but reaching forward for the mark
ReplyDeletePhilippians 3:13
"I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But ... the one thing I do, however, is to forget what is behind me and do my best to reach what is ahead
Reflection…is always a good thing. The opportunity to look at past endeavors ( l really don’t want to say -Mistakes!) because whether we like it or not -the past shapes our tomorrow! Like all the atrocity of past Wars..The past is always present somehow..thats why many people now in Government or Presidents cannot turn on any nuclear bomb without the other key. Also our Bible tells us According to Exodus 14:15 …speak unto the Children of Israel that they go forward. Time waits for no man!!! So,In everything always look forward & give thanks! No matter what has happened just say l give all the Glory to God. Why? Because God has given us another opportunity to made good our bad experiences. Reflections…a snippet at life lessons, that is just it- simple! Let us always celebrate only my dear! There is a song that says…do not look back in anger…that’s what l heard you say!
