I WILL NOT LET AGE DEFINE ME
Happy new week my dear friend. Last week I talked about leaving the past behind. I hope you took something valuable from that message. Today I pray that each new day brings you the best. I also want to share a decision that changed my life and how you too can grow through whatever you are going through.
When we were younger, there were times we looked at our peers and felt like we were not doing enough. This mentality often led to an inferiority complex, preventing us from taking bold steps that could have transformed our lives. Adulthood also comes with its own insecurities. The feeling of regret, believing there were things we could have done earlier to be in a better place now. At different points in life, we are haunted by what-ifs, but we must not let age define us.
Many people give up on their dreams because they believe they are either too old or too young to achieve them, forgetting that success has no benchmark. It is surprising how some abandon lifelong dreams simply because they assume time has passed. But the real question is. Who controls time. How do they conclude that their time is up. Life is dynamic. It does not care about your age. And God is supreme. While men look at the physical, God looks at the heart.
When God sent Samuel to anoint a new king for Israel, even David’s own father did not consider him. It was not until God spoke through Samuel that David was chosen. Look at Joseph’s story and even Hannah, whom God answered at an unexpected time. Even today, science has been proven wrong by people who have conceived beyond menopause. Hard work and diligence are important, but we must also remember that God makes all things beautiful in His time. No matter the situation, we should focus on the future, committing not just our energy but also our faith to each new day. There is a saying. It is not over until it is over.
Age should never define who we are to God or what He has committed to us. Moses was 80 years old when he led the Israelites out of Egypt and Caleb was just as strong in his later years. You are as old as you think you are.
Like me, I want you to reprogram your mind and believe that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Instead of wondering if you still can, start doing it immediately with the mindset of success. And it works. The problem is never age. It is courage.
I have also realized that people will talk. Some may laugh at you for pursuing a dream at a certain age, but the truth is they will celebrate with you when you succeed. No matter how much they doubted or mocked you, success has a way of silencing critics. The more your success surprises them, the more they celebrate you.
Let us encourage ourselves and our loved ones. There is still so much to achieve and we have got this. Let us go out and make our dreams come true. May God give us the strength to accomplish all that we pray for.
Thank you for reading. Do not forget to comment and share with your family and friends. Stay blessed and I will write to you again next week.
