THE BIGGEST INVESTMENT

My dear friends,

It’s so good to write to you again. I believe 2025 is treating you well already, and if it’s not yet what you hoped for, don’t be weary. Just put in more effort; it’s going to be a great year.

Today, I will be talking about a very important topic: The Biggest Investment. Investment is a crucial part of life, especially for anyone who desires a better future. Tomorrow is the seed sown today, so whatever investments we make now will determine what we enjoy later. But what could be the biggest investment?

Over time, I’ve paid attention to many success stories, people who started with nothing, lost a lot along the way, yet fought their way out of life’s tribulations. Let me point out a few popular examples.  One is the story of how Femi Otedola faced crises, sold the majority of his shares, and started afresh with power generation, real estate, and a few other businesses. Another is that of Elon Musk, how he struggled with Zip2 and PayPal, endured three failed SpaceX launches before the success of the fourth Falcon 1, and overcame Tesla’s challenges before revolutionizing the electric car industry. Today, Musk is one of the most economically influential people in the world.

When you look into these stories, you’ll find that successful people have one thing in common: they invest in themselves before investing in any business. They consider themselves the greatest asset of their ventures. This mindset ensures that even when their businesses fail, they don’t fail with them. Instead, they find a way to rebuild and thrive.

This year, we must first understand and acknowledge that we are the greatest asset we possess. Building ourselves into unbreakable and invaluable assets requires investing in ourselves. This can be achieved through:

- Learning new things (reading books, conducting research, and seeking advice from professionals),

- Making careful choices, and

- Prioritizing our health.

Discipline is another crucial trait to imbibe, setting aside time for essential activities, avoiding procrastination, and steering clear of frivolities. It’s vital to take ourselves seriously this year, recognizing that we are the foundation of any business we venture into.

Now that you understand what the biggest investment is, another thing that can hinder us this year is dwelling too much on the past. It’s often said that when one door closes, another opens. But we’re often too busy worrying about the closed door to notice the open one.

It’s important to learn to move on from things that hold us back. Let go of projects that don’t bring growth, and consider changing jobs if necessary. These small changes can turn our lives around this year and make it a truly successful one.

Thank you for reading. Don’t forget to share this with your family and friends!
