7 Lessons I've Learned About Money

The subject of money is an interesting one, because everyone of us needs it. Money is still crucial in our world. And in my life, I’ve had couple of experiences about money, and so I believe does everyone too. Today, I want to share 7 lessons that I’ve learned about money.

1. MONEY CAN MAKE YOU DO SO MANY THINGS

With money, you can do a lot of things. In fact, you can do miracles. Like if someone is sick and taken to the hospital, without money the person might not receive good treatment. But with money, the person will receive healthcare.

I remember the case of a brother who had an urgent medical condition and needed surgery. When I heard about the case, he was at the point of severity. And there was no money to do the surgery. So I assisted in paying for the surgery. The surgery was done and he recovered.

Today, he’s healthy and alive. If there was no money, probably it would have been another case. But thank God for the provision. So, having money can make us to do so many good things, including securing life itself.

2. MONEY IS A MEDIUM OF EXCHANGE;

Most times, we get distracted by what money does that we don’t remember what money is- a medium of exchange. This means money is only something we exchange with another thing. And since money is a value, it has to be exchange with another value. That’s why we can only give our money to something that we see value in.

And to also make money, we will have to give value in exchange for money. That is the whole idea of making money. It’s all about solving problems for people, creating businesses and offering services. We would discuss more on that in the upcoming episodes.

If you have money, you can buy good food, good house, good car, good clothes, good shoes and so on. In fact, you can buy good status and position for yourself in the society.

3. MONEY ANSWERS ALL THINGS:

Just as the Bible says- "A feast is made for laughter, and wine makes merry, but money answers everything." When you have money, you are confident that most problems can be solved. Most of the problems in our world today are money problems.

When the bible says money answers everything, it means money is involved in everything. Though money cannot buy health, but it can buy the best medical service in the world. Though money cannot buy life, but it can buy the best security system in the world. Money, truly answers everything.

4. MONEY MAKES YOU FREE;

Freedom is attained when you are not under pressure to do anything. One of the most important things that money buys is freedom. You have freedom to do what you want, when you want it, and where you want it

Though, some people have misused this freedom. But freedom with money can actually make us live our best life on earth. We can go as far as we want to do things for people, to have good time with people, and enjoy great moments going around the world.

Money takes away the pressure of having to please anybody, or locking oneself in the unending cycle of boring jobs and needless routines. With money, one is free to fulfill their purpose and live their best life on earth.

5. YOU CAN EITHER SERVE MONEY OR MAKE MONEY SERVE YOU:

When Jesus said you cannot serve two masters, he mentioned who those two masters are- God and mammon (god of money)

In this life, we are either serving money or money is serving us. If one is doing wrong things because of money, they are serving money. But if one is doing right things with money, money is serving them.

The difference between those who serve money and those who money serve is their mindsets.

The former believe they can do anything FOR money. The latter believe they can do anything WITH money – the latter are not attached to money. They can use it as a tool to do things, to help people, to achieve their goals and to make this world a better place.

6. YOU CAN MAKE YOUR MONEY WORK FOR YOU:

That is the advantage of investments. If you know how to invest in stocks, real estates, businesses, and other investment portfolios, you can make your money work for you while you go to sleep.

Even lending money to people with interests can be a good way to make your money work for you.

7. GIVING ACTUALLY MULTIPLIES MONEY:

When we give our money for good course, it multiplies. This is a law of sowing and reaping. The money we give to help other people, to buy food for others, to pay for school fees, and many other good things – they don’t go away. They come back to us in returns. Because when we give, we open our treasures for increase.

So, those are the 7 lessons I’ve learned about money. I want to do more series on money matters in the upcoming weeks. I hope they would contribute some value. Feel free to share your comments. Do stay tuned and have a beautiful weekend.

Bless you!
